Ron Holland, 5-star basketball recruit, decommits from Texas

Ron Holland has had a change of heart in terms of his college plans.
The 5-star recruit who is 6-foot-8 and 195 pounds, announced on social media that he would decommit from Texas. He’s from Duncanville, Texas, and ranked the No. 4 player nationally by the 247Sports Composite, and the No. 1 power forward in the Class of 2023 in America.
“I want to take this time to thank head coach RT and the entire Texas coaching staff for their consideration,” Holland said in his social media announcement. “I would also like to thank the Longhorn Nation for all their love and support. While this has been a difficult process, I have decided to de commit from University of Texas and re-open my recruitment.”
Holland chose the Longhorns over Arkansas and UCLA. The Razorbacks previously landed Holland’s former high school teammate Anthony Black.
