Texas football has been waiting for a year for some revenge after losing last year’s Red River Rivalry in the final seconds. The Longhorns did just that on Saturday afternoon, as they knocked off Oklahoma by a score of 34-3.
There has been a lot of talk throughout the years before and after the games, and the Longhorns added to the rivalry with their actions after the win.

The Longhorns players planted the Texas flag after the game, and they put it right through a Baker Mayfield jersey. Mayfield during his time as the quarterback at Oklahoma was known to plant the flag, with the most famous moment being after the Sooners beat Ohio State in Columbus.
Freshman defensive end Colin Simmons said that Texas would win the game after the Longhorns’ game 2 weeks ago, and he delivered with 5 tackles and 1.5 TFLs.
For Texas, it is another big game next weekend, as the Longhorns host the Georgia Bulldogs in Austin in one of the most-anticipated games of the year. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. ET, and the game will be aired on ABC.
