Derek Mason already has a nickname for soccer player, Vanderbilt kicker Sarah Fuller
Vanderbilt women’s soccer player Sarah Fuller is already the first female to ever suit up for an SEC football team, and she could make further history if she is called upon to kick for the Commodores against Missouri on Saturday.
Clearly, Fuller has already established herself as part of the team, earning a nickname from Vandy head coach Derek Mason.
“Derek Mason has been calling her ‘Champ’ coming off the SEC Soccer title. She’s been doing everything requested of her at practice.”@taylorbethdavis will be on the sideline Saturday when @VandyFootball suits up Sarah Fuller who may become first woman to play in a P5 game.

Vanderbilt’s women’s soccer team is fresh off an SEC-title winning season, so Mason might be hoping some of that winning attitude rubs off on the rest of his team, who are 0-7 on the season.
Even if Fuller does not take the field on Saturday, it is a remarkable achievement.
